Magento AX Integration
for a Multi-industry Corporation.

ABOUT LHM:

The Larry H. Miller Group of Companies (LHM) began with a single automotive dealership, Larry H. Miller Toyota, in Murray, Utah on May 1, 1979. Since that time, the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies has grown to more than 80 businesses and properties operating in 46 states. These businesses fall into the following primary areas: automotive, finance, insurance, real estate, sports, entertainment and retail.

Problem:

LHM required an integration solution that can be used to sync products, inventory, customers, shipping & orders between their Magento e-commerce store and Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 ERP to streamline their business operations. A major problem was finding a solution that could help in the seamless synchronization of their 125,000 product items.

The Solution:

Folio3 suggested Dynamics AX 2012 Integration for LHM’s Magento e-commerce stores with customizations. Folio3 ComAX Connector was used to sync LHM business applications with their Magento store including the undermentioned out of box functionalities:

Customer:

The following tasks were integrated in the Customer module from Magento to AX:

  • Create and Update Customer Profiles
  • Create and Upgrade of Customer’s Billing and Shipping Address
  • Maintaining Contact Information of the Customers

Orders:

The following tasks were integrated in the Orders module from Magento to AX:

  • Sales Order Creation
  • Order Status
  • Payment Status (Authorized, Captured, etc.)
  • Store Credit
  • Simple and Bundle Products

The following tasks were integrated in the Orders module from AX to Magento:

  • Order Fulfillment
  • Shipment Tracking Info that includes: Carrier Name, Tracking Number and Ship Date
  • Shipment Status that includes: Pending, Processing, Complete
  • Sales Order Cancellation

Products & Inventory

This connector enables creation of simple products followed by their updates from Magento to AX. The undermentioned tasks were integrated in the Products & Inventory module from Magento to AX:

  • Creation of Simple Products & its Updates
    • Item Number/SKU
    • Price
    • Weight
    • Inventory update
    • Quantity

Payments

The following tasks were integrated in the Payments module from Magento to AX:

  • Payment methods that contain:
    • Credit Card
    • PayPal
    • Store Credit

Shipping:

The following tasks were integrated in the Shipping module from Magento to AX:

  • Shipping method
  • Requested shipping and delivery date

The following tasks were synced from AX to Magento in the same module:

  • Shipment status update
  • Shipment tracking number, ship date, carrier name & service
