THE CUSTOMER

L&M is a year-round supplier of fresh fruits and vegetables. L&M offers a full range of services, including: farming, packing, logistics & sales. Specializing in apples, pears & cherries; vegetables; potatoes & onions; and produce sourcing.

L&M would like Folio3 to build a custom Change Order App for Dynamics AX 2009.

The Problem

L&M required a change order app that could be used for creating and editing loads from their iPhone app and any updates to be posted in AX in real time.

Folio3 Solution

Folio3 developed a native App for iOS. There would also be a middleware component involved in this solution, using which AX code would be invoked. The app supported version of iOS9 and above.

A major component of the Change Order App was to streamline Order Management for L&M Companies. Solution provided by Folio3 helped order management through following stages:

Order Management

Order management with the help of the different screens and the functionality that they offer:

Login Screen

a. Users can login using their AX/Active directory credentials.
b. User cannot change their password from the App.

Load Number Screen

c. User will either enter a load #.
d. OR click ‘New Load’ button to retrieve a new load #.

Pickups selection screen

e. Existing loads will list all pickups on this screen.
f. There would be a New Pickup button on this screen, will allow the user to add a new pickup.
g. User can add multiple pickups.
h. User must choose a pickup before clicking next button
i. If user only needs to change a date, they can do that on this screen and click on the ‘Create/Update Orders’ button, which will post the updates on AX.

Drop offs selection screen

j. New loads will have no drop offs by default.
k. Existing loads will list all drop offs on this screen.
l. There would be a New Drop Off button on this screen, which will allow the user to add a drop off customer.
m. Each pickup selection can have multiple and different set of drop off targets.
n. User must choose a drop off before clicking next button.
o. If user only needs to change a date, they can do that on this screen and click on the ‘Create/Update Orders’ button, which will post the updates on AX.

Items selection screen

p. New loads will have no items by default.
q. Existing loads will list all items and user can change quantity on this screen.
r. New Item button will allow the user to add an item and enter the quantity.
s. If pick ticket has already been generated, it will warn the user when update order button is clicked
t. It should have an ability to add multiple items.
u. Each pickup and drop off combination can have multiple and different set of items.
