It uses templates with measurements and pass\/fail criteria, can block noncompliant lots automatically, and can trigger workflows from inspection results. It went into preview on November 16, 2025 and became <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/dynamics365\/release-plan\/2026wave1\/smb\/dynamics365-business-central\/planned-features\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">generally available on April 1, 2026<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, Microsoft built the app on <a href=\"https:\/\/erpsoftwareblog.com\/2026\/08\/microsoft-builds-business-central-quality-management-insight-works-tech\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a licensed subset of Insight Works&#8217; Quality Inspector<\/a>, a long-established Business Central add-on. The Manufacturing Power BI app also gained subcontracting analysis on April 1.<\/p>\n<h3>Fixes that matter to cost accountants<\/h3>\n<p>Three smaller <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/dynamics365\/release-plan\/2026wave1\/smb\/dynamics365-business-central\/experience-improved-usability-manufacturing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">manufacturing usability changes<\/a>, released on April 1, 2026, remove real friction:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Location-specific WIP.<\/strong> Capacity and overhead now post using the production location&#8217;s inventory posting setup. Previously they all went to a blank-location WIP account, which unbalanced sites that post material by location.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Serial-level output.<\/strong> When you explode routing in the output journal for serial-tracked items, the last operation now splits into one line per serial number.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Quieter BOM warnings.<\/strong> Each user can turn off the repeated warning about non-certified production BOMs and routings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other April updates help too. Requisition worksheets and item journals can now go through approval workflows. You can choose planning behavior for items without SKUs at a location. Item variants can carry pictures and attributes, which helps with configured products.<\/p>\n<h3>Agents for order-to-cash and procure-to-pay<\/h3>\n<p>The Sales Order Agent and Payables Agent both became <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/dynamics365\/release-plan\/2025wave2\/smb\/dynamics365-business-central\/planned-features\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">generally available in November 2025<\/a> and kept improving through 2026. Since July 8, a company can run <a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/dynamics365\/release-plan\/2026wave1\/smb\/dynamics365-business-central\/planned-features\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">several Sales Order Agents<\/a> with smarter item matching, for example one per sales team or channel.
